About Us
De Afghanan Cuisine is a family-owned Afghan restaurant founded in 1993 by Aziz Omar and his family, nestled in Fremont, California. With over three decades of dedication, the restaurant strives to preserve authentic Afghan flavors using fresh ingredients and traditional recipes. As the first Afghan restaurant in “Little Kabul,” De Afghanan has grown to multiple locations across the Bay Area and Central Valley.
Our Promise
We are committed to delivering genuine Afghan dining experiences marked by warmly spiced kabobs, aromatic rice dishes, and flavorful vegetarian options. Our signature dishes—including Chaplee Kabob, Quabili Pallow, Mantū, and vegetarian Borani—reflect our passion for quality, authenticity, and culinary heritage. We ensure every meal is prepared with care, using fresh produce and meats marinated overnight.
Community & Recognition
De Afghanan Cuisine has received accolades such as Small Business of the Year and Best Middle Eastern Restaurant in the Bay Area, and has been featured on TV shows like Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods and ABC7 News. Beyond serving delicious food, we strive to be a community hub where guests can gather, celebrate, and enjoy a genuine taste of Afghanistan in a welcoming environment.
